It is common in the industry for tensioned fabric structures to be installed by stretching a single cover over the entire structure and attaching the fabric at the ends and bottom. Our fabric panels are divided into modules that are typically 20 feet wide, each individually attached using our patented installation system. We have tested and proven that individual attachment of fabric modules is the most structurally effective, durable and weather-tight.

Our innovative attachment method connects the fabric to the structure in such a way that there is no direct contact with the steel member. This prevents the possibility of tear in case the steel is not fully smooth. Our tensioned fabric structures feature a double layer of fabric at the topmost portion of the structure or in any area where there is a direct contact with a steel member. This provides an extra layer of fabric protection in vulnerable areas.

We apply horizontal and vertical pre-tensioning to our fabric panels. Our comprehensive system also includes individually tensioned side wall panels for a snug fit. The end wall fabric is reinforced by girts or fabric stops for a secure attachment and enhanced durability. Correct tensioning methods attach the fabric to the structure properly, eliminating flapping and tearing.

Fabric Options

Polyethylene (PE) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) ripstop fabric with weight ranging from 12 oz. to 18 oz. is available to meet various weather and building conditions. Your building consultant will work with you to find the right type of fabric for your structure.

PVC fabric is very common for tensioned fabric structures. Its primary quality is its material strength and resistance against sunlight and wind exposure. With proper ventilation with the fabric structure, the interior of a PVC fabric building will feel new and spacious for years to come.

High-desnsity polyethylene (HDPE) fabric can be recycled, which is very useful for many structures. Using PE fabric is typically a lower-cost solution for construction. PE fabric has been enhanced over the years, and it is increasingly popular.

PVC and PE fabrics have a translucency rating of up to 12 percent. This lets natural light pass through the fabric material and into the building.
