Rigid Steel Frames
The solid steel frame of a Legacy building allows collateral loads to be placed anywhere within the structure. Collateral loads include cranes, conveyors, catwalks, lighting, sprinklers, heating and cooling systems, and viewing platforms.
Equipment loads affixed to the structure frames in Legacy buildings are calculated into the roof-load specifications. Building framing can easily be engineered to support conveyor systems, overhead cranes and the materials they carry.
Custom engineering allows the ancillary system to be hung anywhere on the building frame, which may or may not be the peak. Each framing member is individually engineered to handle the point load applied to that frame without disturbing the surrounding framing members.
